She Stayed on Yellow

Every week, we make a bribe deal with Emily, that if she has a "yellow" week, she will get a big surprise. (Yellow means her card didn't get flipped, meaning she was well behaved all day).
5 days is a long stretch for a 4 year old, so mid-week we get a special treat if she stays on yellow Monday thru Wednesday.
Last Wednesday, she got to cash in on her good behavior.
Ice Cream.
Dairy Queen Dipped Cone, to be more exact.
Those are the smallest size!
Am I the only one that forgets that fast food porportions are insanely huge?!
I was so thirsty the other day, and I grabbed a large drink from a drive through...a minute later they handed me a liter of soft drink.
That's out of control.
I digress...

Yeah. I don't know what I was thinking giving them ice cream in the car.
Bubby destroyed his.
We were home within minutes, but that was enough time to have the backseat covered with ice cream and covered children from head to toe.
Immediate Bath Time.

Bubby took "immediate" too literally.

Middle of August

Let's see...

Bubby got his cast off FOR REAL at the beginning of the month.
Last pic of my guy with the icky blue cast.
Look at that BIG boy!!
I guess it is the perspective in the pic, because we got updated stats on him...

Emily loves riding her bike.
The 100+ degree climate doesn't seem to deter her, either.
DaddyDaddy says she is getting better each time.

Heck on Wheels!
Emmy is doing better at school.
Her good days have started to out-numbered her not so good days.
Yay!
Speaking of school, she has taken to drawing pictures of everyone...anatomically correct.
o-O
Crazy child!

Last week, we drove to Houston for W's liver check up.
We had an uneventful drive, but arrived late to the hotel...and then had to switch rooms because we discovered the sheets were not clean.
My OCD "we're all going to catch Ebola and die" was trying to flare up, but I think I did a good job repressing it.
Chatting with someone important.
Bubby <3 alexander="alexander" bell.="bell." br="br" graham="graham" s="s">
The pre-appointment lab draw was traumatic.
Three sticks.
Lots of big Bubby tears.
So sad!
Take two cookies and call me in the morning.
Bubby, MD

He is 2'10" tall (52.56%) and 32lbs 6.5oz (90.1%).
From the first pic, you probably thought he was catching up with Emmy on height.
Nope. She is still about a foot taller than him and MAYBE 4lbs heavier.
LOL.
My solid little man and spindly amazon baby girl.

His labs were fine, except for his medication level. They adjusted it and we got labs drawn locally today.
Everyone in college station thought I was a girl.

Last weekend, I was on call; so we had to lay low in case I needed to go in.
We did manage to check out a new restaurant and get the kids' hair cut.
EXCITING!
He was NOT happy.
I think he thought they were going to stick him, after the lab fiasco.
Emmy got a super cute and sassy bob.

That's about it...we are doing baths and watching Rio for oh, the 100th time.
I don't really mind...its cute to watch them laugh and dance.

Visitors, Tantrums and Hijinks

It's been a busy couple of weeks.
We had visits from Nana and GD to help keep the Bubby birthday celebration going.

Speaking of Bubby birthday...it is like he turned two and the tantrum switch has flicked on.
Emmy threw screamin tantrums, but Bubby...he throws things.
Binkies. cups of milk, cutlery, plates of food.
Ugh.
It's always upsetting to see your baby act like that; but, exponentially more difficult to see Wes, known for being so sweet and loving.
Don't get me wrong, he switches back to the sweet Bubby as quickly as he shifts into monster mode.

Super Cat!
Poor Max. Such a trooper

Do you see it?
Tantrum's a'brewin'

Beautiful Emmy
AAAAAND we're back to the super sweet, silly boy

Happy 2nd Birthday, Sweet Boy

Can't believe my baby boy is two!
Not a baby anymore.
*tear*

No, not Christmas...

We went out with friends for pizza (Bubby's favorite) Thursday evening, and the waitress brought him a piece of cake.
So sweet :-)

Happy Birthday to you!

Emmy and Wes attacked that piece of cake like a couple of wolves!
Starving wolves!

Enjoying his new F250.
Daddy might be jealous.

My sweet miracle<3
Enjoying his birthday cupcakes the next day

We are so blessed.
God bless our Angel Donor. <3

Catch Up

Bubby:

Monday was supposed to be an awesome day...
His fracture is healing perfectly.
IF he were able to police his own activity, he might have been given a break...
Alas, new cast for another 3 weeks.
:-(

Trying the blue on

To add insult to injury, he was also feeling under the weather, poor tummy.

Finally feeling like eating...chowing down on some tummy friendly foods.

He looks like such a little boy!! No more Mommy's Baby :'-(

Much to our chagrin, someone has taken to sleeping in our bed again.
My theory is the cast prevents him from getting into the full fetal position, and he gets uncomfortable and wakes up...and won't go back to sleep.
And he still likes to sleep in the middle of the bed, taking up as much room as possible.

Emmy:

Emmy is good, as usual.
You can count on her to stay healthy when everyone is sick and dying.
She's been having a bit of trouble at school...she is expected to lay quietly during nap time.
Well, she doesn't nap aaaaaand she is super hyper.
Bad combo.
Although, I do think it is a bit much to ask a 4 year old to lay still and be quiet for over an hour, going upwards to two hours.

My big girl!!
She told me that she and her Daddy were very busy outside.

She did a pretty good job!

Cast Week 1

First week down, one to go.
Bubby is not a big fan.
Not digging the impedance getting around and into stuff.
Poor little guy is so desperate to stand up, but the bend of the cast doesn't allow it.
He has adapted, and is not sliding across his floor...like a dog...scratching his butt on the floor.
Poor baby!

Enjoying a nice bubbly bath.
Thank God for water-proof casts!!

**Warning! Cute baby booty ahead!**

ARGH! Look at those precious little buns!!

It was a rough week.
We celebrated its end with some FroYo.

She looks like she is going to cry.
What's in the cup: chocolate FroYo, maraschino cherries and gummy bears

Just chillin' and texting his daddy.
For real. He sent one, typed another and I think made a phone call to his Nana.

And a little bit of random:
I was at a nursery the other day and saw two caterpillars on this one plant.
I haven't seen caterpillars like this since I was a kid. :-)

Kaboom!

Happy 4th of July!!
We actually got to celebrate this year :-)

Wessy woke up not feeling so hot, so he and I stayed in and snuggled.
But, Daddy and Emmy got all decked out for the local 4th of July parade.

My beautiful Firecracker and her cutie patootie gal pal Ava

The afternoon was low key.
We met up with Billy's step-brother and his family and got some BBQ at Hard 8.
It was pretty good. My princess requested "HAM!"and "Pickles!"
Silly girl.
After dinner, back to the house for some illegal backyard firecrackers.

Emmy with her sparklers

Bubby was so tired, but enjoyed watching from his swing

Billy and Drake discussing their plan of action on how to make the biggest explosion

Bubby and I didn't make it out to the big fireworks at the park, but Daddy and E are out enjoying the big Booms!!
