Fun in the Sun

E played hookie and spent the day with Mommy!
So, what do two girls do on a beautiful, sunny day?
Go to the pool, of course!
Today was Emily's first time to have full body sunblock applied, wear a swim suit and go to the pool.
The preparation was exhausting, as you can see...

She livened up a bit when I told her that there could be cute boys at the pool.

Then she attacked me. I think I was taking too long and too many pictures.

Sorry, no pics at the pool.
The Mommy can only carry so much and keep it all sucked in at the same time.
She had a blast, though.
We were able to spend about an hour there before we were falling asleep in our floaty.
Never fear Aunt Ami, we are working on our base tan before we go to Florida.

Wordless Wednesday: En Garde, Cat!

(not so wordless: Yes, she climbed up into the dishwasher; and what does she pick out to play with? Yes, THREE knives...)

Zero Balance

Well, I guess she is "officially" ours now.
Our debt to St. David's has been paid in full.
No more fear of the hospital repo-ing E if we were late with a payment.
On the other hand, it closes the door on our Plan B;
in which, if we were THAT sleep deprived and overwhelmed, we would just bring her back to the hospital and say,
"Hey, she's really yours!"
Hmm...
(odd enough that she picked this evening to rear her cantankerous side...)
All kidding aside, it is a nice feeling to be done with that.
And I don't just mean payments. The moral to our hospital billing saga is that, God forbid you are ever hospitalized, before you are discharge make sure that the billing department has your correct phone number, current address and insurance info.
Call them again, even if you JUST spoke with them.
And then call them again to make sure they got it the first 10 times.
I must have spoken to 3 different people from the billing department before we left, and they still had my college phone number and address when all was said and done; and had me classified as uninsured and actually billed Medicaid and overcharged me in the long run.
As nice as the news of the refund was, it is no where near as sweet as this...

Memorial Day

First of all, us G's would like to thank all the men and women (and their families) of the Armed Forces for their contribution and sacrifice to ensure our rights and freedom.
We are so lucky to live in the United States.
We had a pretty low key weekend.
Didn't do much on Saturday.
I started working weekends at the hospital on Sunday.
Mr. Mom (aka "The Daddy") did a great job with E for 13+ hours, all by his lonesome.
The house was still standing, E had all her limbs and the cat seemed pretty normal.
Bonus!
Emily did eat a piece of cat food, but that was actually on my watch.
Mother of the Year strikes again.
Sunday, we hung around for most of the day and then went over to have a play date with Maddison, Lily, their respective parental units and Miss Sarah.
The girls are actually classmates at daycare. It was so cute to watch them interact with each other.
Maddison was the little mother hen, and helped E with her bink when she lost it! SO CUTE!
Of course the camera battery wasn't charged, so I wasn't able to capture any Kodak moments.
The big girls kicked the boys butts in Family Feud. We laughed, imbibed and enjoyed delicious shrimp. What a great way to start the week!
Thanks to Steven and Sarah for having us!
Tomorrow, The Mommy is going to get the final details nailed down at the bakery for someone's first birthday!!

License and Registration, Please

It's Thursday and you know what Thursdays mean...
E gets a new toy!
Hooray!!
Taking her new wheels out for a spin.

Max volunteered to be her driving instructor.

Narrowly escaping becoming road kill, Max sought safer ground.

Dead End

I don't know what she is doing. But, it looks hilarious.
Yes, Miss Emily is WALKING with the assistance of her new toy.
W A L K I N G
I am told she does laps at daycare with a similar toy.
Speaking of daycare...
The Daddy was notified earlier this week that someone was refusing to eat their own food and wanted a classmate's breakfast.
My baby girl has some wrap sheet:
1. Reckless Driving
2. Waffle Embezzlement
3. Public Indecency (pantless or just plain nakey)
I don't know who is influencing all this bad behavior. I swear we are good parents...look really closely at the pictures above, we even baby proofed the outlets!
