Choo-Choo!!

In case you haven't heard, Thomas the Train is where its at.
Thomas with his busting bumpers, fizzing fire box and pumping pistons have sucked both my children into his lame world on the Island of Sodor.
Saturday was the annual "Day out with Thomas" in Burnet.

We rode a passenger train led by Thomas himself, about 3 miles through the scenic Hill Country.
And when I say scenic, I mean the backyards of meth houses, laundry hanging out on a line, rust yards. Oh, and the nice wooded areas in between.

So excited to be riding a real train!

Suddenly too cool for Thomas

My Lovie.
Look familiar?

We escaped before we were bullied into buying any more Thomas paraphernalia; alas I can't say the same for SnowCones.

Later in the day, we had a visit from Granny and Grandpa.
They have a grandbaby night, while B and I went out to dinner...not fast food.

That GrandPa sure is a bebe magnet.

In addition to our busy Saturday, we have been enjoying the steady, much needed rain and getting ready for HALLOWEEN!

A Day at the Park

Daddy Daddy celebrated the beautiful weather and took the munchkins to the Round Rock All Abilities Park this weekend. It is a truly amazing place. Designed so that kids of all kinds could play, no matter if they are in a wheelchair or special needs. Awesome!! They all had a blast!

Her face is hilarious. I feel this way too sometimes when I'm outside work.

School Days!

August 26th was Emmy's first day of Kindergarten!!
School for REAL!
My princess was super excited about her first day.
(Bubby and I unfortunately did miss her first day due to hospitalization, but she had plenty of supporters and photogs to make her day special from us)

She picked out her first day outfit and her backpack...that lights up!
In her classroom at her desk.

Bubby did get discharged from the hospital the week of August 26th, and  we hit the ground running as soon as we got home.
It's just a busy time of year!
I apologize for the lack of updates between then and now.

Bubby started school on September 3rd.
He is at the same school that Emily attends, in a teachers' children's program.
It's a little too early for his liking

Not nearly as excited as his sister was
After his coffee on the ride over, he perked up a bit

My loves!
Can't wait till the chef starts cooking for real!

His first week was a little rough, but we have been assured by his teachers that he is doing better and the melt-downs are much less frequent.

We were also concerned that he was a little developmentally behind, mainly in speech.
His teachers have noticed it, too; but I cannot begin to express how much more he is saying and how clearly he says it!
Just a few minutes ago, he said "Daddy, I'm hungry."
WOW!
I don't doubt that he may have tried to say this many times before, but it came out so garbled and was just gibberish.
Way to go, Bubby!!

The BEST thing about this school business, is that they come home exhausted and bedtime is soooooo much easier. Muwahaha!

Posing like this...totally her idea.
