Prima Ballerina

This afternoon was Emily's first, long awaited dance lesson.
Yea!
She was so excited, she showed the doctor some moves this morning.

Our little ballerina

Practicing some techniques
So, how did the class go?

Well...
We (Mommy and Daddy) were a little apprehensive about how E would react to having to go with someone she didn't know; as no adults are allowed in the dance studio.
Once Emily realized who her teacher was and that they were going to dance, she took off and left us in her dust!
She was the first one in the studio ready for the fun to begin.
Never in my life did I think that MY child would be the one that is running around the classroom, overly energetic and enthusiastic, not listening.
Ha! Must be her Daddy's genes at work there.
She had to be right next to the instructor the whole time because she just wanted to dance...not listen.
Poor teacher. She sure has her hands full with Miss Emily. But, at least she is enthusiastic and has a passion for movement.
:)

Oh, Big Girl!!

2 Year Check Up Stats:

Height: 38.5"
Beyond the 95th Percentile

Weight: 28lbs 4oz
Just under the 75th Percentile

Height for Weight (BMI)
5th Percentile

Just to put in in perspective...if she was 3 years old, her current height would still be in the 90th percentile. And don't let the weight fool you, while she is not emaciated, she is a skinny minny!!

According to BabyCenter's Height Predictor, there is a 90% chance that Emily Ryan will be 6'1" when she is 18 (+/- 1.7")

Oh, Big Girl!!

Other than being a skinny amazonian, she seemed to be just fine. She did have to get a finger stick to check a CBC. And the doctor told us that we really need to start banishing the bink. EEK!

Splash Time With Daddy

Daddy and his Frog Princess

"Hola, Mommy!"

Look at my little "phishy" all by herself!
Wee!

Dining With A Toddler

We had a belated Father's Day dinner this evening.
The Daddy chose to eat catfish for his special meal.
The E decided to dine on hush puppies and crackers smothered in white gravy.

Excuse me
...
**vomit**
...

Of course, she was Align Centerthe center of attention to our whole side of the restaurant.
But being the giver she is, she decided to share the limelight with her mommy by announcing to EVERYONE who would hear her sweet little voice, that "Mommy went potty!!" as the enormously pregnant mommy waddled from the restroom back to the table.

Sigh.

We supplemented our fantastic meal with protein enriched milk and antioxidant packed fruit when we got home.

And to help heal my "bruised ego", E stared intently at me this evening and said "I like you, Mommy."
Don't know why, but that makes my heart flutter even more than "I love you".

Weston Wednesday

Ultrasound this afternoon...

The Numbers:
I am 34 weeks, 2 days pregnant
Weston is already 6lbs 1oz, with a femur length the likes of a 36 week gestational baby
My belly is measuring 38 weeks

What it means...
Basically, I am incubating an offensive lineman in my uterus.
He's is and will be a big boy when he gets here.
The doctor also noted that my amniotic fluid level is borderline high, which means one of three things:
1. It is a freak thing, and everything is fine
2. I have gestational diabetes
3. The baby is not swallowing like he should, possible due to an esophageal anomaly

We are not freaking out because
1. A month ago, when I had my glucose tolerance test, my result was no where near high
2. The baby had fluid in his stomach, indicative of some swallowing action and had a normal anatomy screening ultrasound at 20 weeks

All signs are pointing to freak thing. But, just to be safe, I am going to have to repeat the glucose tolerance test (puke) and have another ultrasound in two weeks.

I was hoping that we could move the due date up a couple of weeks since he is so big. Alas, all I could get was a week early induction. At this point, I will take what I can get. Nothing is set in stone, but I am thinking I will be induced the week of July 19th.

On a side note...the doc says that E was probably small (6lbs 14oz) in comparison to the moose, I mean Weston, because my blood pressure was high with her. Interesting.

School's Out For Summer!

Now that Blogger is finally working again!
...
Friday was Emily's last day of school.
E's out for the summer!
While most kids are happy to be out of school, Emily loves school and didn't want to leave.
No worries, we have plenty of activities planned this summer to keep her occupied...including ballet and swimming lessons...and big sister duty!

A big thank you to Ms. Linda, Ms. Kym and especially Ms. Laura. Thank you for loving our little girl and making school so enjoyable for her.

After fighting with the picture program, I still can't get this pic to lay horizontally...
