First* Bath at Home

* First meaning, first captured on film. Actually his second home bath. Hey, two kids = double chaos!
Not happy about the situation...

A cheeky Bum Looker adds insult to injury...

But, don't feel too sorry for him. He got us all back by letting his fireman loose.
We are not 100% sure, but we are pretty sure E got sprayed.

Angry! Rawr!

1 Week Old

I can't believe it has been a full week since we have become a family of four!
Time flies when you are sleep deprived, I guess.
Emily is a fantastic big sister. She loves that little baby so much. She has a tendency to get a little overzealous when "petting the baby", but you can tell she just adores him.
Just look at that proud big sister!

Weston is doing well, although he has had a difficult first week.
A circumcision and 4 heel sticks the day we left the hospital;
4 weight checks at the doctor's office (every day we have been home, except Sunday)
And he had to have his frenulum clipped this afternoon for a severe tongue tie.
Poor little guy.
Hopefully we have turned the corner and will be able to stay out of the doctor's office and away from sharp objects until our next scheduled check up.

To quote his Daddy,
"I'm kicking ass, I'm one week old!"

PS: At his first check up, he measured 21". So, either the hospital measured incorrectly, or he has super human growth hormone. He'll be 8' tall by the time he is a year at this pace!

PPS: Did you know that Weston thinks he is a puppy? He literally barks in his sleep and has
"puppy dreams". We are trying to catch the evidence on video. Stay tuned.

Welcome to the World, Weston Wyatt

We got a little more than we bargained for Sunday night.
I was picking up Emily's room and my water suddenly broke!
Weston decided he was ready to see what the outside was like.
We welcomed our little man Monday morning, July 19th at 8:53am.
8lbs 9oz and 19.5"

Emily is so excited to be a big sister!
She immediately accepted that this new baby was "baby Weston" that had been in Mommy's tummy this whole time. She has been so gentle and sweet with him. Some of my favorite moments of the past two days have involved holding both of my sweet babies close.

We had a pretty good first night.
Both of us got decent stretches of sleep and Weston seemed to nurse pretty well.

I never imagined that I would be given such great gifts.
God has truly blessed Billy and I with two of the most beautiful and wonderful souls.
We are so thankful for our children!

Going home tomorrow to start the "real" family of 4!

Kiddie Acres Play Date

Wednesday is our weekly play date with the kiddos from Emily's school.
Today, we went to one of E's favorite spots...Kiddie Acres.
She LOVES to ride the airplanes (must get that from her GD) and it is by far her favorite ride; followed closely by the carousel, which she calls "riding donkeys".
Savannah and Emily flying!

 Riding Donkeys with Daddy :)

Oh, and did I mention the pony?!
Emily and Copper are the best of friends.
I am so proud of my brave girl!

Weston Update

Weston is being evicted on July 21st.
That is, if he doesn't decide to come on his own.
And we are making progress in that respect.
What this means...
15 days left, MAXIMUM.
Yea!

My glucose tolerance redo was even better than the first time around, so I definitely do not have gestational diabetes.
On last week's ultrasound, they saw fluid in his stomach, kidneys and bladder...all indicative that he is swallowing.
So, it would seem that the extra amniotic fluid is just a freak thing.
Of course, there is always a small chance that there is something that isn't showing up on ultrasound, but Dr. H feels pretty sure it is "just one of those unknown things."

More good news...
Not only is there a light at the end of the tunnel with the induction date, but I am also being excused from work these last two weeks.
I have been retaining a lot of fluid this entire pregnancy, but here in the last two weeks, it has become out of control. I gained 8lbs of fluid in one week!
Being on my feet at work is definitely not helping and it is getting to the point where I can barely walk after being up for a period of time.
Hopefully with this little bit of extra rest, my edema will go down and the pain will lessen before the big day.
