Ultrasound this afternoon...
The Numbers:
I am 34 weeks, 2 days pregnant
Weston is already 6lbs 1oz, with a femur length the likes of a 36 week gestational baby
My belly is measuring 38 weeks
What it means...
Basically, I am incubating an offensive lineman in my uterus.
He's is and will be a big boy when he gets here.
The doctor also noted that my amniotic fluid level is borderline high, which means one of three things:
1. It is a freak thing, and everything is fine
2. I have gestational diabetes
3. The baby is not swallowing like he should, possible due to an esophageal anomaly
We are not freaking out because
1. A month ago, when I had my glucose tolerance test, my result was no where near high
2. The baby had fluid in his stomach, indicative of some swallowing action and had a normal anatomy screening ultrasound at 20 weeks
All signs are pointing to freak thing. But, just to be safe, I am going to have to repeat the glucose tolerance test (puke) and have another ultrasound in two weeks.
I was hoping that we could move the due date up a couple of weeks since he is so big. Alas, all I could get was a week early induction. At this point, I will take what I can get. Nothing is set in stone, but I am thinking I will be induced the week of July 19th.
On a side note...the doc says that E was probably small (6lbs 14oz) in comparison to the moose, I mean Weston, because my blood pressure was high with her. Interesting.
