A Very Bubby Birthday

My handsome little man is 3 years old!
He is becoming such a little boy. Not so much baby anymore.
*sniff, sniff*

Last pic as a two year old, doing what he loves most :-)

Last two year old diapy butt

I was blessed with an unexpected day off and got to spend the whole day with my big guy.
Emily had her last day of camp, so DaddyDaddy and I packed up the Bubs and headed out for a morning out especially for him.
If you are not a local Austinite and have never been to Kiddie Acres...let me set the stage:
It opened in the late 70s and everything is original; with the exception of the ponies, I'm sure.
Yeah, that's right. I'm putting my kid on these rides that are older than I am.

"Dad, you see the rust on this thing?? No way!"
He loved the boats.

But, nothing compared to the train. Once he realized there was a train to ride, he wanted nothing to do with anything else.

Daddy folded up and rode with him first
Once was not enough and I had to squeeze in and ride a second time
Seriously...this is not the train. No me gusta.
We had a little bit of time to kill before we needed to go get Emmy, so we went to Five Guys and Amy's for a celebratory birthday lunch and treat.

Didn't eat anything, but drank his sweet tea
Worn out from our morning of fun

We came home and had a low key afternoon with cake and presents.

"3" vanilla confetti cake with white chocolate butter cream icing...complements of this Mom!
So, the cake was a mix, but I doctored it up and I totally made the icing from scratch. Not to mentioned fashioned a number 3 out of cake.

Happy Birthday to You!!

What a sweet face!

Its always a little bittersweet on these happy celebrations.
Without his Donor Angel, he may not have had a third birthday.
Its easy to get complacent and stressed raising two little ones. But, I never forget that every smile, every laugh, every hug and "I wuv oo" may not have happened without our Angel in Heaven.
God Bless You and Your Family for helping make this happy day possible for all of us.

I never forget that as we celebrate Weston's milestones that a huge THANK YOU goes out to his Donor Angel & his/her family. Here's praying Weston has many, many more celebrations over many, many years.

Love,

Loved watching him blow out the candles on his cake. Glad he loved his train. He played with it for hours and hours. He waited on the porch and waved goodbye to me as I left. That was so cute! Happy Birthday!!!!!!!
