Dinosaur Breakfast

Rawr!

Happy Birthday, Nana

The perk has returned to the pumpkin.
A road trip is exactly what the doctor ordered.
Emily had a great time visiting with Nana, GD and Uncle Kyle.
She even ate!
Hooray for food!

Birthday hugs!

Nana, you wouldn't try to sneak veggies in that cake, would you?

Bummed

20 days and no updates?!
What they hay you say?
Well, it's not that we have been busy, we have just not been ourselves.
Between sickness and hating food, it has been a very trying month so far.
Poor little E.
I thought these days of moping around and being odd weren't supposed to rear their ugly head until the fabulous teen era.
We are heading to San Antonio tomorrow to spend a couple of days for Nana's b-day.
Maybe the change of scenery will perk my little pumpkin up...

Rest In Peace, Tail

My little Emmaline just wasn't herself today.
She really didn't have an appetite and wasn't playing and reading like normal.
I guess every girl has a "day in the dumps" every now and again.
And what makes us girls feel better???
A trip to the salon!

After much reflection, we all realized that it was time to shed the rat tail for a more sophisticated, posh 'do.
After all, E is no longer a baby!
We headed on over to Pigtails and Crewcuts at the recommendation of a friend.
(muchas gracias to Kennedy and her mommy!)

Emmaline was enamored with her very own police car, with a working steering wheel.

The stylist was combing through her hair, and the first thing she noticed was the TAIL!
Everyone came to peek at it.
I had to explain that the tail was very important to us, and that we wanted to keep it.
After seeing the look of horror on the stylist's face, I had to explain that the tail should be snipped, but not thrown away...as to be kept in E's baby book to show potential suitors later in life.

One last look at the impressive Rat Tail.
Note the curl at the end (look closely)

My sweet girl enjoyed her hair cut so much!
She sat still the whole time and was super cooperative.
Check out my baby, I mean Big Girl, admiring her new style.

Here is what is left of the tail...feel free to observe a moment of silence.

Word Watch 2009:
Hey GD, guess what E said today?
Tiger.
I tried to get her to say Longhorn, but she wasn't having any of it.
But, before you get too excited, The Biscuit Brothers were singing about a tiger.
And I know what you are thinking; "A tiger is a TIGER, that is unless he's from Auburn."
